Committee notices and documents
The Fabric Committee at Ribble Cruising Club comprises of a number members who meet once a month (generally on the first Monday) to carry out maintenance tasks at the Clubhouse and ensure all services are in working condition. This includes the lighting, heating, plumbing, and the pumps which are in the lower ground floor for the showers and excessive rain water. We also carry out any general repairs on the building both internally and externally as required.
There is an ongoing program of refurbishment to the Clubhouse. This has in the past included renovations of both gents and ladies toilets and the installation of a disabled toilet off the Clubroom. The Clubroom has been redecorated and a new carpet and wooden dance floor fitted. New and refurbished chairs and tables complement the new décor. The galley has been refurbished with a new floor, work tops, cupboards, sink etc. A new office has been created between the galley and disabled toilet. The dinghy sailors of the sailing committee have also refurbished the gents and ladies changing rooms.
Externally the Clubhouse is regularly re- painted and the paths re-surfaced.
Recently a new step access to the racebox has been installed, and external remote control of the heating system has been introduced.
The committee are always keen to receive assistance from members, no matter what level of practical skill and ability, on the ongoing maintenance programme. Please contact Andy Walls
Chairman Fabric Committee.
