A programme of underwater inspection involving DIVE OPERATIONS is scheduled to start tomorrow Wednesday 7th February and can be expected to last for a period of at least 12 weeks.
The Dive Support vessel will be the 14meter Bay Towage vessel ‘ARGUS-G’ and DIVE OPERATIONS are scheduled to be carried out at all of the Turbine positions in the Wind Farm but will start at the Turbine positions listed below.
A4, D1, C7, C1, C5.
DIVERS will access Turbine position according to the conditions of weather and tide at the time and because of this fishermen are requested and advised to avoid setting any pots within 500 meters of any of the above mentioned Turbines during this period, if in doubt please contact me.
‘ARGUS G’ will display the ALPHA FLAG whenever DIVERS are in the water and a 500 meter safety exclusion distance is requested at all times whenever this vessel is observed to be on site.
A listening watch will be kept on VHF Channels 16 & 12 and ‘ARGUS-G’ can be contacted for information relating to DIVING OPERATIONS only
Fishermen using pots are requested to note the Turbines to be inspected and move their gear away from any Turbine on that list to at least 500 meters.
Weekly notices will be broadcast giving the progress of the works.
Attached is the ‘Kingfisher Flyer’ which gives all of the relevant information concerning the ORMONDE WIND FARM there is also a picture of ‘ARGUS-G’.

If fishing inside the Wind Farm you are advised to use Dhan Buoys anchored towards the middle of the lane with a long weighted feed line rather than Marker Buoys that can be moved by the strong tides and so foul the Turbines.
REMINDER OF THE MAILBOX DROP FACILITY THAT HAS BEEN SET UP ENABLING ANY FISHERMEN WITH STATIC GEAR DEPLOYED EITHER INSIDE THE PERIMETER OF OR IN THE CLOSE PROXIMTY OFTHE ABOVE MENTIONED WIND FARM TO REPORT THE POSITIONS OF THE GEAR TO THE OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT TEAM IS STILL OPERATIONAL, THIS INFORMATION WILL SUBSEQUENTLY BE RELAYED TO THE CTVs

ORMONDE OFFSHORE WIND FARM
CONTINUING EXPORT CABLE REPAIR –DIVING OPERATIONS
Repairs to the Export cable are ongoing and the cable repair vessel ‘STEMAT 82’ is on site in the area of the Sub-Station at the ORMONDE OFFSHORE WIND FARM and continuing with repair operations.
Attached are the NtMs issued by Transmission Capitol in relation to the ongoing work.
As part of the Export Cable Repair Dive Operations will be carried out as requiredboth at the Sub-Station and along the Export Cable and the ALPHA FLAG (White and Blue) will be displayed whenever DIVERS are deployed
IN CONSIDERATION OF THE ANCHOR PATTERN THAT WILL BE DEPLOYED BY THESE VESSELS A SAFETY EXCLUSION ZONE OF AT LEAST 1,000 METERS IS REQUESTED AND ADVISED AT ALL TIMES WHENEVER THESE VESSELS ARE ON SITE.
Repair work is being carried out on the Export Cable along the stretch from the Sub-Station and out to at least 1’000 meters and all mariners are requested to keep clear of and give a wide berth to the work area as shown on the attached chartlet and as noted below.
Support craft will also be in attendance.

POWER OUTAGE – TEMPORARY NAVIGATION LIGHTS
EXTINGUISHED AVIATION LIGHTS
As part of the work programme to repair the section of Export Cable there is a power outage.
Temporary Navigation Lights have been fitted to cover all existing Navigation Lights but it should be noted that the Aviation Lights will not be covered and these lights will now have extinguished.

UNDERWATER INSPECTION OPERATIONS
ALL TURBINE POSITIONS
The Dive support/Utility vessel M/V ‘CARRIER’ (picture and details attached) is continuing with the programme of SUB-SEA INSPECTION OPERATIONS at each Turbine position in the ORMONDE OFFSHORE WIND FARM, as weather and conditions permit.
M/V ‘CARRIER’ will first inspect all of the sub-sea workings of each Turbine along the D String, which is the inshore section, before moving off to inspect the next string and is currently carrying out inspections at Turbine D05
Please note M/V ‘CARRIER’ will work during daylight hours only
As each Turbine inspection is expected to take 3 to 4 days the full programme of work will last for approx. 44 days, depending on weather and conditions.
The ALPHA FLAG (White and Blue) will be displayed whenever DIVERS are in the water and a minimum 500 meters Safety Exclusion Zone is requested at all times whenever this vessel is on site
Fishermen are requested and advised to avoid setting any pots at positions extending for at least 1 mile from the Sub-Station and along the Export Cable Route during this period, if in doubt please contact me.
