      MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME

      WALNEY 1 (WOWO1) TURBINE F03 – BURBO BANK 1 TURBINE BB14 –

The jack up vessel ‘WIND SERVER’ is currently in Holyhead to mobilise and as long as weather and conditions remain favourable can be expected to arrive at Turbine position F03 at the WALNEY 1 (WOWO1) WIND FARM during the early morning of Wednesday 29th May.

Once on site and Jacked-up  ‘WIND SERVER’ will remain at Turbine position F03 for approx. 2 days before transiting across to the BURBO BANK 1 WIND FARM to carry out some maintenance work at Turbine position BB14 which is expected to take approx. 1 day.

Once completed at BURBO BANK1 ‘WIND SERVER’ will then transit across to the ORMONDE WIND FARM, expected 1st / 2nd June, to carry out some maintenance work at Turbine position C02, a further notice regarding the ORMONDE WIND FARM will be issued shortly.

Technicians will be transferred to the turbines by means of a gangway leading from the vessel to the turbine and times spent at each Turbine position are entirely dependent on weather and conditions as well as the direction of the wind and could be altered to accommodate conditions at the time.

Fishermen are requested and advised not to set any gear close to the above-mentioned Turbine position in the lead up to this period of maintenance work.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are unsure about any of the above or require any further information, also please pass this information to any of your colleagues who you think might be interested.

If you know of any fisherman who works the area and does not receive this information or anybody else who would benefit from this information please let me know

      ………………………………………………………………………………………..

Attached for information is a picture of ‘WIND SERVER’ both afloat and Jacked-up and all mariners should note that there is a mandatory 500m Safety Zone whenever a Jack-up is pulled-up alongside a Turbine at any of the wind farms but a wide berth, minimum 500 meters, is also requested whenever the vessel can be observed afloat and manoeuvring into position.

Also attached are the latest ‘Kingfisher Awareness Charts’ which give all of the relevant information concerning the BURBO BANK 1 and WALNEY 1 Wind Farms

Please use the E-mail address WF_FishingActivities@dongenergy.co.uk to identify the position/s of the gear providing a contact mobile telephone number which can then be passed on to the service craft so that they can monitor it and also keep clear of it when carrying out their maintenance routines, also arrangements can be made if there is a requirement to move the gear to facilitate any maintenance activity.

If fishing inside the Wind Farm you are advised to use Dhan Buoys anchored towards the middle of the lane with a long weighted feed line rather than Marker Buoys that can be moved by the strong tides and so foul the Turbines.
