    ORMONDE OFFSHORE WIND FARM

    EXPORT CABLE REPAIR –DIVING OPERATIONS

     

    Attached are two NtMs issued by Transmission Capital concerning the repair to the EXPORT CABLE at the ORMONDE OFFSHORE WIND FARM.

     

    These NtMs give the details of the work area shown as Figure 1 on the attachments, and noted below, as well as showing pictures of the two vessels involved, the Cable Lay Barge ‘STEMAT 82’ and the DIVE PLATFORM/SUPPORT VESSEL ‘YORKSHIRE LADY’.

     

    IN CONSIDERATION OF THE ANCHOR PATTERN THAT WILL BE DEPLOYED BY THESE VESSELS A SAFETY EXCLUSION ZONE OF AT LEAST 1,000 METERS IS REQUESTED AND ADVISED AT ALL TIMES WHENEVER THESE VESSELS ARE ON SITE.

     

    The main cable repair vessel is the ‘STEMAT 82’ assisted and supported in the initial stages by ‘YORKSHIRE LADY’

     

    ‘YORKSHIRE LADY’ is on site and carrying out Dive Operations at the Sub-Station and along the Export Cable within the work area as shown in Fig.1 on the attachments and noted below

     

    Dive Operations are expected to last for approx. 7 days, depending weather and conditions, and the ALPHA FLAG (White and Blue) will be displayed whenever DIVERS are in the water.

     

    ‘STEMAT 82’ is in Barrow and can be expected on site shortly.

     

    The repair work in total, involving ‘STEMAT 82’, is expected to run until around Sunday 11th June, approx. 16 days, again depending on weather and conditions.

    Please mark these on your chart/plotter and keep clear

     

    Two CTVs ‘WINDCAT 27’ and ‘WINDCAT 37’ will assist as required from the base in Barrow

     

    Fishermen are requested and advised to avoid setting any pots at positions extending for at least 1 mile from the Sub-Station and along the Export Cable Route during this period, if in doubt please contact me.

     

    A listening watch will be kept on VHF Channels 16 & 12 and any of the vessels, can be contacted for information relating to vessel movement and DIVING OPERATIONS only

     

    Also attached for information is the ‘Kingfisher Flyer’ which gives all of the relevant information concerning the ORMONDE OFFSHORE WIND FARM

     

    Please note that the ‘Flyer’ is provided for information relating to the Wind Farm only and should not be used for navigation.
