PRE-LAY GRAPNEL RUN (PLGR)– WOWO4 EXPORT CABLE

A pre-lay grapnel (PLGR) run along a section of the WOWO4 EXPORT CABLE ROUTE, from the landfall at Middleton Sands through Heysham Lake/Lune Deeps and out to the West and South of the Lune Buoy, is scheduled to start on or around Friday June 16th.

The grapnel run will be carried out by the 27.7m Briggs Marine Multi-Cat Work Boat ‘FORTH WARRIOR’ between the two KPs below and as marked on the attached chartlet :

    KP 3.7                          to                                      KP 22.5

    Lat 54° 0.28”N   Long 002° 56.86”W                                   Lat 53° 54.98”N  Long 003° 11.01”W

‘FORTH WARRIOR’ will be operating at reduced speed while towing heavy equipment at up to 60 meters astern and with limited manoeuvrability therefore a wide berth, 500 meters, is requested from passing vessels.

Depending on weather and conditions as well as the requirement for any boulder or debris removal the PLGR can be expected to last several weeks.

‘FORTH WARRIOR’ will keep a listening watch on VHF Channels 16 and 12 as well as monitoring Channel 14 and can be contacted for information relating to vessel movement only.

The attachment has a small chartlet which shows the general run of the Export Cable with the two KPs clearly marked as well as the Lat & Long in WGS84 Format Degrees, Minutes, Decimal, there is also a picture of ‘FORTH WARRIOR’.

Please note that the chartlet is provided for information purposes only and should not be used for navigation.
