Attached is a NtM issued by NIRAS Consulting Ltd (NIRAS) informing of a Benthic Survey in the Liverpool Bay area, off the coast of England/Wales, which will be carried out by the 18m survey vessel ‘MERSEY GUARDIAN’ (picture attached)
The survey is part of an ongoing scientific monitoring programme and has a start date of Monday 18th December, it will consist of grab samples of the seabed which will be taken from the survey area as advertised on the attached chartlet.
Survey operations are expected to last for 4 days although, depending on weather and conditions, the days may not run consecutively. Survey operations should not interfere with any other vessel but as ‘MERSEY GUARDIAN’ will be restricted in its ability to manoeuvre during sampling passing vessel are requested to give a wide berth and keep clear.
A listening watch will be kept on VHF Channels 16 & 14 as well as monitoring VHF Channel 12 for Mersey VTS and ‘MERSEY GUARIAN’ can be contacted for information relating to vessel movement only
