NtM -WALNEY EXTENSION (WOWO3+4) OFFSHORE WIND FARM

WALNEY EXTENSION (WOWO3+4) OFFSHORE WIND FARM

      COMPONENT EXCHANGE – TURBINE POSITIONS A05, H04

The jack up vessel ‘SEAJACKS SCYLLA’, currently on a north about passage from Esbjerg, can be expected on site at the WALNEY EXTENSION (WOWO3+4) WIND FARM on or around Sunday 14th to carry out component exchanges at two Turbine positions A05 and H04.

Depending on the weather and conditions ‘SEAJACKS SCYLLA’ will spend approx. 2 days at each Turbine position and attached for information is a picture of ‘SEAJACKS SCYLLA’ both afloat and Jacked-up.

Technicians will be transferred to the turbine by means of a gangway leading from the vessel to the turbine.

There is a mandatory 500m Safety Zone whenever a Jack-Up is pulled-up alongside a Turbine and this applies at any of the wind farms wherever, but a wide berth, minimum 500 meters, is also requested whenever the vessel can be observed afloat and manoeuvring into position.

Fishermen are requested and advised not to enter the Wind Farm or set any gear close to the above-mentioned Turbine position in the lead up to this period of maintenance work.

For more information on the boundaries of the 50 metre Advisory Safety distances please ensure that you have the latest KIS-ORCA information installed.

This can be downloaded from www.KIS-ORCA.eu .

Attached is the latest ‘Kingfisher Awareness Chart’ which gives all of the relevant information concerning the WALNEY WIND FARMS 1 to 4

Please note that the ‘Awareness Chart’ is for provided for information purposes relating to the Wind Farm only and should not be used for navigation.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are unsure about any of the above or require any further information, also please pass this information to any of your colleagues who you think might be interested.

If you know of any fisherman who works the area and does not receive this information or anybody else who would benefit from this information please let me know.

      ……………………………………………………………………………………….

      FISHING INSIDE THE WIND FARM

A REMINDER OF THE MAILBOX DROP FACILITY THAT HAS BEEN SET UP ENABLING ANY FISHERMEN WITH STATIC GEAR DEPLOYED EITHER INSIDE THE PERIMETER OF OR IN THE CLOSE PROXIMTY OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED WIND FARM TO REPORT THE POSITIONS OF THE GEAR TO THE OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT TEAM IS STILL OPERATIONAL, PLEASE READ BELOW, THIS INFORMATION WILL SUBSEQUENTLY BE RELAYED TO THE CTVs

Please use the E-mail address WF_FishingActivities@dongenergy.co.uk to identify the position/s of the gear providing a contact mobile telephone number which can then be passed on to the service craft so that they can monitor it and also keep clear of it when carrying out their maintenance routines, also arrangements can be made if there is a requirement to move the gear to facilitate any maintenance activity.

If fishing inside the Wind Farm you are advised to use Dhan Buoys anchored towards the middle of the lane with a long weighted feed line rather than Marker Buoys that can be moved by the strong tides and so foul the Turbines.

For more information on the boundaries of the 50 metre Advisory Safety distances please ensure that you have the latest KIS-ORCA information installed – this can be downloaded from www.KIS-ORCA.eu
